Description: Ever wonder what it's like to wake up on top of a mountain and look into the neighboring state? The Harper House does just that. You can see 40 miles away in South Carolina and it's truly breathtaking. The house is pretty great too. Six adults can sleep upstairs while 4 kids can occupy the 'kid's zone', a bedroom and bath in the basement with 2 sets of futon bunk beds and satellite TV for whatever gaming box they bring. The house is full of extras like a great fireplace, a gourmet kitchen, a solarium, a large deck to take in the view and a garden tub in the MBR with a view of it's own. Saluda is at the bottom of the mountain and offers lots to do in our Historic Business District. You can enjoy live music and a delicious meal at one of our locally owned restaurants, take an art class, sign up for a guided fishing tour, or get a massage and our galleries are supreme. Within a 30 minute drive, you can hike a national forest, roam the halls of America's largest residence, the Biltmore Estate, be entertained at the Flat Rock Playhouse, NC's state theatre or go visit the NC Arboretum. Bring a few books to catch up on or an empty trunk to fill...either way you're going to enjoy your visit in Saluda, because there's so much to do or you can do nothing at all!
